| On the first Saturday of May, America's best three-year-old Thoroughbreds assemble under the famous Twin Spires at historic Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky to race in the first leg of the Triple Crown. On this day, fans, celebrities and politicians mingle at the track. Since May 17, 1875, the Kentucky Derby has been the event to herald in Spring and Kentucky's social season. The Kentucky Derby stands as the oldest, consecutively held Thoroughbred race in America. Join us with an Mint Julep in hand and Derby Hat on head to experience the "Run for the Roses."
